Principal's Report
Dear Parent/Caregivers,
Book Week Parade
Today we celebrated Book Week with a parade of characters from our favourite books. It was great to see so many of our children involved, with a great deal of effort going into the costumes by parents and families. We thank you all for this tremendous effort. I'd also like to thank parents for the dilgence with QR codes, masks and social distancing. It made for a great morning.
It was also fantastic to see so many staff involved. Check out the photos below!
Curriculum
Staff have been developing their understanding and the application of Learning Intentions (LI) and Success Criteria (SC) in their learning programmes. LI and SC are high impact strategies that support student learning. Students should be able to articulate what they are learning and why. I encourage families to regularly discuss with children the learning occurring at school.
COVID 19 Update
As the situation with COVID-19 evolves, the Department for Education continues planning and operating in line with advice from SA Health to support the safety and wellbeing of staff, students and the broader community.
The following measures remain in place until further notice as directed by the Department for Education:
- Continue to limit the number of parents on site, and when on site they must wear a face mask and practice physical distancing.
- All adults (including staff) must COVID-SAFE check in each time they enter the site.
In line with these directions, we will continue with students being dropped off at the school gates.
Although unfortunate, in 2021 we will not be able to have parents on site for Sports Day on Friday 10th September. After careful consideration and consultation, we established that we would be unable to safely and effectively manage the event with parents on site.
