Dear Parent/Caregivers,

It’s been a busy few weeks at school. The Year 6 students returned from their Mylor Camp. Reports from everyone indicated that they had an amazing time and learned lots of new skills. Special thanks go to Mr McGorman, Miss Bowe, Mrs Demasi, Miss Olivia and Ben who supervised the camp.  It is really appreciated, the time and effort that the teachers have given to make this camp so successful.

Book Week

Last week we celebrated Book Week with a parade of characters from our favourite books. It was great to see so many of our children involved, with a great deal of effort going into the costumes by parents and families. We thank you all for this tremendous effort. It was also fantastic to see so many staff involved. Check out the photo gallery below!

Thank you to everyone who supported our Scholastic Book Fair. We raised approximately $700 to put towards purchasing more books for our Resource Centre. It’s great to see so many in our community valuing reading. Don’t forget Scholastic Book Club orders can also be made online. The next Book Club orders close on Wednesday 13th September.

External School Review

Last week we concluded our External School Review. Thank you to the families, students and staff who participated in the review. The panel really enjoyed speaking to many of our wonderful students and getting an insight into their thoughts on learning at LPPS. Once the review has been published I will share the findings with the staff, Governing Council and the school community. Each review provides a further 3 directions that guide the school for the next 3 years to support our improvement agenda.

Sports Update

It’s great to see so many of our students representing our school in a variety of SAPSASA events.

Congratulations to Indi who was selected to participate in the Year 6 Port SAPSASA Soccer team and played last week in the State SAPSASA Championships. The team won Division 2. Well done.

Amanda Nelson and the sports committee have been busily preparing a programme for our upcoming Sports Day on Friday 22nd September. Sports Day captains are preparing their chants and warm up routines ready for the big day.

The Parent Group will once again be selling sports day merchandise closer to the day.  An assortment of team coloured items will be on sale.  Stay tuned for more information on this.

Next week families will receive information about canteen specials that will need to be pre-ordered at the canteen or on the Qkr App.

This year we will also be including our colour fun run to conclude the day. Students will have the option to wear their team colours or change into a white shirt for the fun run. The teachers cannot wait to colour bomb the students and neither can I!

AFL MAX Camp - Room 4 and 5

We are excited to provide the opportunity for our year 3 classes to participate in an overnight camp at AFL MAX on Thursday 28th September to Friday 29th September. (Term 3, Week 10).

Payment for the camp is due by Thursday 14th September
