We have had a fun start to the year in Indonesian. There has been lots of talk about our feelings and the weather.

Our new Reception students have visited the Indonesian room twice now and are becoming familiar with the layout of the school. We have been learning ways to answer the phrase Apa kabar? which means How are you? We have also been singing songs and finding fun games on the iPad to help us with our Indonesian learning journey.

Our Junior Primary students have been busy telling me all about themselves, their names, age, favourite subjects etc. It has been fun getting to know one another through fun and games.

In the Middle Primary we have also been getting to know one another, learning routine phrases for how to go to the toilet or get a drink.

Upper Primary students have hit the ground running, having fun telling, acting out and making changes to stories we have created. They have impressed me with how much Indonesian they have retained over their years of language learning, and also the persistence and resilience shown by our new students is commendable.

I’m looking forward to a fun year ahead and I hope you are too!
