Dear Parent/Caregivers,

As we approach the end of term and take the opportunity to reflect, we realise just how much learning occurs and how many opportunities the school provides for our learners.

This newsletter provides just a glimpse of what we can celebrate. At our staff meeting next week, staff will have the opportunity to share their success stories with each other. 

Since our last newsletter our students have completed NAPLaN, participated in various sporting activities, celebrated Harmony Day, Yr 6 Le Fevre HS visit, multiple excursions and activities. These are often shared to the community via our Facebook page, and also through Seesaw or SZapp.

This term we have had the opportunity to connect with parents at Acquaintance Night and Parent Teacher interviews. Governing Council and staff will be looking at ways that we can increase parent participation to support the learning of our students. 

The Department for Education has implemented a Mobile Phones in Schools policy which has had a significant positive impact for our school, however the negative impact of social media platforms being used by children after school hours continues to be a major concern for us.   The school is regularly supporting students navigate these negative experiences. Please support our school by talking to your child about their use of apps such as Snapchat and the content that they share. The minimum age to be on Snapchat is 13, as there are many potential risks associated with this and other social media platforms.
