Dear Parents/Caregivers,
What a great start to the term. Classes have settled quickly into their learning programmes.
We have recently appointed our new Well-being Coordinator, Melissa Demasi. Melissa has been a Well-being Coordinator at Mark Oliphant College. She has a wealth of experience and she will compliment and expand on many of the initiatives that have been implemented over the past few years. Melissa will start with us on Monday 15th May. We look forward to her starting her role at Le Fevre Peninsula PS.
I will be taking some Long Service Leave in the second half of this term (wk 6-10). During this time we are expecting that Leah Koen will fulfil the acting Principal position. We can then backfill the Deputy position with a member of our staff. I will inform the community in due course.
We have a number of exciting events occurring over the next few weeks, starting with our annual Mother’s Day stall (Thursday 11th May and Friday 12th May). The Parent group have some fantastic affordable gifts for all, so please support this next week.
This Sunday (7th May) Camp Australia will be holding the finals for their annual hand-ball tournament at Le Fevre Peninsula PS. Drop by and witness some amazing hand-ball skills. Food trucks will also be on site.
We also have 'Footsteps' providing a dance programme for each class on Fridays. Normally we do this in term 4 leading up to our concert, however this year we have decided to run the programme earlier in the year.
We have also planned a school disco for the students to be held on Thursday 25th May. I know how excited the students will be to attend our school disco. Tickets will be available from the Front Office from Monday. They will cost $10 each and will include a fruit box, chips and glow stick.
Kind regards,
Bob
