Dear Parent/Caregivers,
Effective communication with our families is vital and helps support the community know about upcoming activities, events and also the learning occurring in classrooms.
Our Seesaw platform is working well and is the easiest and most effective way for us to inform families about classroom news and events. SZapp supports the school with whole school information. Please ensure that you regularly check the apps to ensure that you receive our latest updates.
Please feel free to contact the classroom teacher if you have any concerns regarding the learning of your child.
Parent/Teacher interviews are occurring next week between 25th March and 28th March. A note has been sent home to all families and also via SeeSaw. Please ensure that you have booked a time with your respective child’s teacher/s.
Our Governing Council AGM was held last Monday, 18th March.
I am pleased to announce the following parents have been nominated and elected to the Governing Council for 2023.
Sarah Gentilcore, Natasha Hansen (Treasurer), Rebecca Benfell, Phoebe Wallish (Chairperson), Tori Duncan, Amber Briggs, Sheree James (Deputy Chairperson) and Tegan Forder (Secretary). I look forward to working with them throughout the year.
NAPLaN (Online)
Over the past week students in year 3 & 5 completed NAPLaN Online.
The tests covered Literacy (Language Conventions, Writing and Reading) & Numeracy.
The results gained from the tests provide us with data that we analyse and then use to program appropriately for our students.
Students with Disabilities and SSO’s in Classrooms
All students have different learning requirements. Over the first 7 weeks at school, teachers have been working hard to establish positive teacher- student relationships with their class. We have been focusing on creating safe conditions for rigorous learning. As we move through term 1, the focus moves to understanding what students know, can do and understand and designing learning programs to build on their understandings.
SSO’s and support staff play a significant role in supporting students and teachers.
