Dear Families,
Welcome back to the final term for 2024. The term planner looks really busy with plenty of exciting activities planned. Please check the planner for important upcoming events.
Canteen Update
Wendy has informed the Governing Council that she will be finishing up at the end of the year to pursue other career opportunities. Wendy has done an amazing job in the canteen to provide a service to our school.
We have been fortunate to have a managed canteen that has provided fantastic recess and lunch options for our students. We thank Wendy for her time and dedication.
The LPPS Governing Council would like to invite interested parties who would like to take over the management of our canteen.
For further information please contact myself or Jeanette Martin (Business Manager LPPS).
Expressions of interest addressed to The Principal are due by Friday 15th November.
Building 3 Upstairs Upgrade
We have been notified that the tender process has now closed for the upgrade of building 3. This has been a slow but thorough process. We are hoping that building works may start at the end of this year.
Class Placements 2025
We are working on the assumption that we will have 12 classes next year plus the Area Resource class, based on predicted enrolment.
However, I need to point out that this could change as late as the first day back next year, based on new enrolments or students leaving the school. If you know that your child will not be returning here next year, please let us know as soon as possible, as this will assist us in the class placement process.
The placement process is a very complex and time consuming one. Our aim is to achieve the best possible mix of students in both straight and composite classes. Whilst we like to have children with friends where we can, it is also beneficial for children to mix with new groups of students from year to year.
Your child/ren’s class placement information will be sent home during the last week of term. While we do our best to have all teachers placed by this time, it is not always possible and while your child may know their room number, they may not necessarily know their teacher. I apologise in advance if this is the case.
Thank you to those families that have put any requests in writing.
Reception Transition Visits
Our new Receptions for 2025 will commence their first of three transition visits next week.
I would like to welcome them and their families to Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School. In total, there will be approximately 21 children joining our 2024 mid – year enrolments.
They will be in Rooms 10 and 11 for their transition visits as well as next year.
