Dear Families,
We are quickly moving towards the end of the year. We have lots of activities planned in the last few weeks, including High School transitions (5th and 6th Dec), Year 4 and 5 Surf Ed (5th and 6th December), End of Year Concert (3rd December) and our Year 6 Graduation. Our Year 6 graduates will attend a dinner cruise on West Lakes followed by a formal ceremony at school.
What a great opportunity for our students to attend the Vailo Adelaide 500 last week. The students had a great day and represented our school especially well. Special thanks to Mr McGorman and staff who organised the excursion.
Indonesian Dinner
Our Year 6 students had the opportunity to celebrate their learning by attending an Indonesian restaurant (Pondok Daun, Currie Street) on Tuesday night. This tradition started with Bu Karen and has been continued by Bu Emma. They had a great time trying the various options on the menu.
Surf Ed
Our Year 4 and 5 students will attend Surf Ed lessons on the 5th and 6th December at Grange beach. Surf Ed is a great programme to help students understand beaches and water safety.
Where students and their parents/carers don’t feel comfortable taking part in ocean-based activities, these students can take part in alternative beach activities.
CWA Visit
In 2024 we have continued to build our relationship with the Semaphore CWA. Throughout the year, members of the CWA have worked with our older students by introducing them to cooking and craft activities. This week students made and decorated gingerbread. We have been able to share some of the photos on our Facebook page. Thank you to the ladies who have come in throughout the year. Our students have been appreciative of their time and effort.
The CWA has also supported us with Coles vouchers to purchase fruit and snacks for students.
Reception Transition Visits
Our new Receptions for 2025 have now completed their 3 transition visits. The feedback and observations have been excellent.
We look forward to them joining our current mid-year enrolments to make up our 2025 Reception classes.
End of Year Event
Sausage sizzle notes have been distributed to all. Pre orders must be returned by Wednesday 27th November. Thanks to Governing Council and Parent Group members who have volunteered to cook the BBQ.
Thanks to the Parent Group who have managed to gather some amazing donations from our local community for our Christmas Raffle. Tickets are available at the Front Office for $2 each or 3 for $5. Tickets will also be available at the End of Year concert (Cash and card facilities available).
Prizes will be drawn throughout the evening.

On Tuesday 19th of November, the year 6 students went to the Pondok Daun to have dinner. There were several delicious dishes that were absolutely astonishing. There were rice, sate, wonton and fried noodles (mi goreng) which was my favourite dish that I had there. For dessert we had Es Campur which was mixed ice with a variety of different fruits in it. The restaurants food was very tasty, the waiters were very kind and it was very comfortable. We had a very nice time there. I would definitely recommend this to other people because it’s amazing and the food is more than just delicious. Gabby Room 21
On the 19th of November 2024, the year 6 students in room 20 and 21 attended the Indonesian Dinner at Pondok Daun. We ate three dishes that were delicious. For the first dish we had spring rolls and dumplings. For our main meal we had chicken and rice. Lastly for dessert we had something called Es Campur which is just shaved ice with strawberry milk. Overall the food was good and the staff were well mannered. Apart from the chicken being a little bit dry, the whole meal was really good. Altogether I give Pondok Daun 4.5 stars out of 5. Year 4-6 VAILO Adelaide 500 Excursion
On Thursday 14th November, over 100 students headed to the VAILO Adelaide 500 in the city. It was a fantastic day full of fun experiences for the students. There was such a great atmosphere with over 5000 school students from across the state there. Watching the V8 Utes complete their qualifying laps in the afternoon was a highlight for us all!!
Warm conditions and sunny skies greeted the Year 6 Students at West Lakes for the Aquatics Program. It was great to see students enjoying a variety of different water activities including kayaking, sailing, snorkelling and surfing. Students had a fun, challenging and exhausting day and we are sure that they all would have slept extremely well that night!
A big congratulations to our ACEO, Kahlia who won "Sports Person of the Year Award" at the annual Nunga Week Awards night. Well done Kahlia for your amazing contribution to sports in the Port Adelaide Enfield area.
