Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School strives to provide authentic, rich, collaborative learning opportunities which value the interests and needs of learners through capitalising on their natural curiosity. This is achieved through implementation of the Foundation to Year 7 curriculum, which is comprised of three dimensions - disciplinary knowledge, skills and understanding; general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities.

Disciplinary knowledge, skills and understanding represents the eight learning areas of the Australian Curriculum. These are English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, Technologies and Languages.

The seven general capabilities are Literacy; Numeracy; Information and Communication Technology Capability; Critical and Creative Thinking; Personal and Social Capability; Ethical Understanding; and Intercultural Understanding. They develop the knowledge, skills, behaviours and dispositions learners need to function and contribute effectively in 21st century society, and they weave across the learning areas along with the cross-curricular priorities: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures; Asia and Australia’s Engagement with Asia; and Sustainability.
